Went to the Fredericksburg Fair this past weekend and got my azz handed to me by all the big ci alhohol motors again. Makes me want to move out west so I can at least run with similar trucks again. The rule changes at the local tacks this year really suck!
Anyway, here's some vids of my runs:
X class (nitrous and cut tires), too bad my nitrous didn't kick in right off the bat like it was supposed to, but at least you can see the differrence between the motor and the frosty jug hit:
Notice anything odd? my motor NEVER turned up on the DOT class runs and my X class run was the same until the nitrous came on. Gotta figure what went wrong before this coming weekend at Mountainview again!
When the hell di you ever mention a trans brake? You are too lazy to get your radiator and wiring fixed to run your bronco. Not to mention buying a new set of plugs and wires. :flipoff
I am. A chain drive t-case with a little better ratio. It will cause me to have to change axle gears to get back to the correct final drive ratio. The glide is going to cause a gear swap anyway, so might as well wait for the entire change and do it all at the same time.
Kris, you drove right past him twice over the weekend. Dumbarse!
Someone explain to me the advantage of going to a two speed over a three speed. Is it strength/price only? or does the extra gear not matter when you're making huge power? I know the top fuel cars are direct drive, but seems to me in the mud and all you'd want another gear...
Paul the way it was explained to me is the less shifts you have to make to get to high gear the quicker you are BUT with a glide you gotta be fairly light and making decent power
I do, and I purged right before I staged. I went out today and re-adjusted the microswitch to open the solinoids at a little more than 3/4 throttle. Did some discussing today about it and with me having it open only at WOT, then I am missing a second or 2 where the mix has to exit the solinoids, go though the -4an line to the plate, down into the plenum and into the chambers. Will see if this makes a difference this weekend in Stafford!
Got a transbrake valve body offered to me today as a loner until I can get another custom built by the c6 master this winter. Gonna take the offer so I can try to finish this season out with some dignity. Won't have it in before this weekend, but should have it installed in the next few weeks. Look for vids of 5000rpm launches soon!
