hi. i have a 1986 f150 4X2. 4 speed puller manual transmission.reg cab stack bed.
inline 4.9 6cylinder engine. single barrel carb. shes green.
engine over heated two weeks after buying her. was stupid and didn't change all the fluids. left the coolant alone. come to find out last owner had put block sealer in .ended up replacing radiator, thermostat, and water neck. ran good for a few days after flush. then head gasket went. took her apart checked every thing. head and block were fine no machine shop needed. so i did a standard head gasket kit. all back together again she ran fine. took her for a test drive. ran way to hot 5 mins down the road. got home steam here and there water coming out near the manifolds. took her apart again. then i noticed that i had drained all the coolant but the was still water in the rear water channels. i have a major blockage. how do i fix this? and can i without pulling motor? please help and thank you.
I would remove the heater core hoses, and upper and lower radiator hoses, as you don't want to send that crap into the heater core or radiator. Now hook a garden water hose to the heater hose that goes to the top of the engine. It doesn't have to be a perfect seal etc... You may want to hold your hand over the thermostat housing and/or the return heater hose for some back pressure.
If that doesn't do it, then try a radiator flush kit you can buy at the store.
Hopefully the block isn't ruined and that clear stuff wasn't glycerine.
