A good power steering pump puts out around 1200 psi under a load. A auto trans doesn't put out 300 psi, so unless it's a real strong cooler designed for either I'd say it's going to end up leaking unless it's put in the return line.
I dunno aout how yall install 'em but I always connect PS coolers to the return line. Otherwise, it'd need pressure-rated fittings. Yeah?
Agreed; I have never seen a PS cooler installed on the pressure side; always the return side. Any cooler I have worked with has simply had barbed hose fittings and hose clamps.
I think that any power steering pump would cause either the hose to blow or the cooler to balloon in a not so nice way if you put the cooler on the pressure side. Go with the return side for sure!!

Yeah no kidding. That's one thing I've yet to see is a presure side cooler on any hydraulic set up.
Thank you. I have two support bars going from top to bottom of the radiator support to mount it. And I'm
going to run hard line except for the ends which will be rubber. I'll post pics when it's done.
Ok. The cooler is in and done. Glad I put it in this cooler gets hot running 35" tires. Might have to cover it in the winter since it's big. That's no biggie. Well as promised pics.
