Ok, that TENDS to indicate that the CPS is working. It's not impossible to still have a bad CPS, but usually when they go out the tach won't move when you're cranking the engine.
For what it is worth, I would go to the Ford (or International) dealer and get a CPS and give it a shot anyway. They will only set you back about $25 and take only about 10 minutes to change. It is an easy thing to try and it really is a good idea to have a spare on hand (in the glove box) just in case. They are known to go out without warning and since there is some question about the function of yours, I would grab one and give it a shot. They are just above the crank pulley (harmonic balancer) at about the 10 o'clock position. There is one bolt that holds them into the engine (10mm) and you will have to do the swap from the ground under the truck. It's a pretty easy thing to try and it may just be the problem.
Another thing you can check is to pull the fuel filter cap off after the truck dies. Is there still fuel in the filter bowl? If there is, then your problem is most likely not a fuel pump or line. If the bowl is empty, then we have a fuel issue we need to look at.
