A newer, replacement Ranger

I'm looking at a 2005 Ranger, 2.3 Duratec 4 cyl, Manual transmission, regular cab, short bed, XL trim (I think). I've only had what info I can get over the Internet. I will see it in person on Monday. It has about 50 k miles on it.

Is there anything I should watch for - cooling system, engine, driveline, body or quirks that are unique to that year.

I currently have a '91 Ranger, as you can see by my signature, and think I should upgrade. I hope to come up and not .

Any ideas or suggestions?

I have a 2007 which is essentially the same and am very happy with it as a no nonsence kind of truck.

Of course you would want to watch out for rust issues where you live but you already know that!
