evap??? buzzing noise

I have a 2001 f150 with the 5.4, I started to have a buzzing sound in the cab, wasn't radio or blower motor for heater. It makes this sound driving and everytime i give it some gas it quits, and as soon as I let off it starts again. Today I opened the hood and on the firewall theres this thing that has hoses running to it and has a tag that says "EVAP max pressure ect. " it is vibrating and making the noise. What is this??? Thanks.

If it has a green-colored cap (looks like a tire stem cap), that would be the evaporative emissions system canister purge valve.

That's it, it vibrates, causing a buzzing sound. What is its function, and is it about stop working???
