my truck make a wierd noise when it is first started, the noise is a bit louder when it is a little colder out. the noise (kinda hard to explain) sounds like a whirring sound and it seems to come from the drivers side front. if i were to put my head in the drivers wheelwell i can here it real good. it sounds like the sound an alternator makes sometimes when it is gonna burn out. i have no i dea what this could be, i thought maybe one of my pully bearings were going south but when you lift the hood while it makes the noise i am sure it cant be. any ideas you guys got? i am thinking , could it be the steering pump making the noise until is warms up?
no it isnt the ebpv valve, i already know what that sounds like, it has the sound that the ford gassers had around the 1992 or so year, when you fired them up you could hear a whine noise, but all the time. mine kinda has that noise but only for a bit then it goes away.

Did you have this noise before you had the transmission rebuilt?
Try taking the serpentine belt off and see if the noise goes away. While the belt is off, spin and check the pulleys, alternator and water pump for noise and loosness.
