Driving home from work yesterday 95 degrees out & going 70 MPH unloaded down the interstate I was at a firm EOT 224 ECT 206 off the Edge Insight. Been reading for awhile & not sure what to do yet in my situation.
Does your Edge get it's temp data from the OBD port?
General consensus here seems to be oil cooler replacement. many have tried a oil cooler flush with varying degrees of success. It's worth a shot before digging into it I think. There is a great PDF and thread in the tech folder if you haven't read them:
That 18 degree spread is clearly too much. I don't think it's about to blow up on you but it looks like its time to fix it. See the quote from the Ford TSB in the first link I posted and make sure conditions are exacty right when getting your temps. The Cooler Kit can be gotten for somewhere around $200 (IIRC) not counting coolant, oil, oil fiter etc. If you are handy with tools it can be changed at home in a weekend. I think the dealerships are getting somthing like $1,100 local shops a little less. Good luck!
Thanks Rusty. I read them a few times. Soon as I can get a weekend off I'm going to do the thorough flush with the Restore & Restore Plus. The 2 Fumoto valves in the block. Then backflush the pieces individually with hot hot water. Add a Dieselsite coolant filter & think Im going to go with the CAT EC-1 ELC coolant. Not sure yet what to do because I do have a 3yr/36K extended warranty & the cooler would be covered I'm pretty sure.

and document it well - make sure the service order states exactly the symptoms so when they say 'working as designed' you have some recourse after it fails
