new guy with some questions
the truck is a 06 F250, with the SCT tuner, AFE stage 1 intake, and a high flow mangaflow cat, rest of the exahust is stright pipe. 8in lift, 37" tires
im wondering if that cat is preventing my truck from blowing black smoke, i know black smoke is bad, but i get horrible milage any why, so i might as well blow smoke.
other question is (ive tried searching) trying to find new brake pads, and instead of just getting what ever pads, what is going help my truck stop better.
Black smoke is usually an overfuel condition or egr valve problem
Id scan for codes it may have cel if no light
clean the egr valve, aned the EBP sensor and tube, and the MAP sensor
mine does not smoke very much Id say you have an issue with bad MPG and Black smoke
could be a bad injector or leaky injector orings
Id also put the stock air filter back on its the best for this truck and might be contributing to your issues
I have 6in lift with 35s and get 14-16 around town 18-20 long highway trip
some go with sloted rotors and preformance brake pads Big help if you tow heavy
me Im going with motorcraft pads and stuff when the time comes I have 80000 miles on the stock setup I dont pull anything though first ride Iv ever got that kind of milage out of stock brake pads
