Hey guys got a 2004 Ford F-250 128k miles. Has EGR delete studs. And a few other mods. However it smoke when I take off from a stop. Any ideas on what is going on? The smoke is blueish white.
Well hooked up something to monitor it with. What I can gather everything looks good. Deltas are good. Icp is at 600 when starting. I think the batteries need to be replaced but i don't think that is related but any ways turbo does not seem to spill as fast as my 05 did. The vgt duty cycle is between 60 and 67. Ficm volts do drop down to 47.5. It only smokes when I take off of hard but not spin the tires hard if you know what I mean. Any help would be great
Has your FICm ever been done? Do you have a FICM tune? Since getting mine it does a very light bluish smoke on take off, especially when cold. More so if loaded with serious weight. Is the EGR functioning, has it ever been cleaned, have sensors ever been cleaned like IAT2, MAF, EBP?
I'd get a live test for fuel contribution. Sounds like a possible injector issue to me.
The numbers you've posted seem normal and probably not related to the smoke issue unless more diagnostics are run.

Well finally had a break to post on here. Took the truck up to the dealer. Was told I need injectors 6 and 7 as well as a new turbo. Was thinking of going with 155/30 injectors from warren diesel. Anybody got any good or bad reviews from them
Just replace 6 and 7 with Ford remans and get a turbo kit. Rebuild the turbo yourself,it's not hard. Call it a done deal.
Sounds like a good plan. However the place I bought it from is going to at for the repairs. Since they sent it to me messed up. Shouldn't have bought a 6.0 without driving it first. It smoked and ran horrible when they sent it here. So a few bad reviews later the owner contacted me apologizing and said take it to the shop
You don't have a history with this truck and you need to get it running on a solid base before you start any modifications, otherwise you'll be chasing your tail trying to figure out what isn't working.
Put in stock Motorcraft injector's see how it all shakes out.
Sorry for the late update gents. I'm in the navy my ship has been gone for a bit. Anyways I got the truck back today from the dealer had the bad injectors and the turbo replaced. The dealer I bought it from footed the bill. I did have the put in a new fuel regulator. Anyways truck runs better now thanks for the advice. Gonna give it good a good shakedown change the fluids and stuff and see How she's looking.
