tranny flush question

2002 F-250

Following the tranny flush procedure... disconnected the line on the rear of the tranny and clamped a hose onto it. Started the motor and fluid started shooting out the the fitting on the tranny and coming out of the hose as well. Thought it was supposed to be coming out of the hose only. Any ideas?

About how many quarts does the TC and cooler hold?

I drained the pan and replaced the filter. A total 4 gallons were drained from the pan (Mag-Tek pan). Re-filled with 4 gallons and hooked up the hose. Started the motor and pumped about 3 gallons out so far. Didn't buy enough fluid so calling it a night.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Rob

Your system holds 17 quarts, unless you have an extra large cooler...If you need a owner's manual with all the spec's.. see:

You have either a restriction in the cooler circuit or the pressure bypass on the side of the transmission is stuck open.
