cooking steak
Marinade the meat in olive oil spiced with crushed fresh garlic, fresh thyme, salt, and fresh cracked pepper.
Heat a heavy frying pan up on high heat. Add a small amount of olive oil. Just as it begins to smoke, sear that steak on one side to lock in the juices. Should take around 2 minutes. Transfer to a 450 degree oven for 5 minutes for rare, and 7 minutes for medium rare, 10 minutes for medium. This will work for any steak about 1.5 inch steak. Let the meat rest about 5 minutes before serving.
For the rest of you. i have used Briens' recipe and it is tender melt in your mouth stuff.
just make sure that when if have a double oven and they're both heated up that you place the meat in the 450 degree one.
It doesn't work so well at 350.

For all of you that don't know, Dennis took that pic at my place last October when he and Michelle came by for a visit. I have a flock thats anywhere from 30 to 50? The've been hanging around for almost a year now. That flock of birds is now 2 short.
Certainly by now you should have some Wild Turkey Recipe's ? [/B][/QUOTE]
Not yet but I'm gonna try deep frying them. Deb bought me one of them turkey cookers. I'm going to bring it and the birds up to the camp this year. They should be a welcome addition to our weekend.

icelander, I didn't take it personal, I knew you were joking/ sarcastic, I was trying to do the same.
Actually a fellow FTE'er is going to hook me up on Friday, otherwise, believe me, I'd a taken you up on your offer. I know you'd a been good for it and I fully believe that a bottle of Dale's woulda shown up on my doorstep.
This Dale's sauce better be as good as they say it is, I've got high expectations.
I'll try it out and report back to the board ASAP. icelander,
Here's my guarantee, if it's as good as you say, I'll email this thread to Dale's and tell them to send you a complimentary bottle.

ok, yeah.......maybe they'll make me a salesman!
just kidding, im not the salesman type, id MUCH rather be on the road in my truck. although, i did sell you on it!
Deep-fried turkey is excellent, esp. if you have a marinade injector. Pump that bird full of garlic/herb butter and fry at 375 until yummm.....drool.....
"Anyone have the recipe for pork BBQ like you get in North Carolina?"
Yup. OK, I'm homesick now, but I do have a great pork BBQ recipe. Soon as I find it I'll post it.
