Degas pooped
My truck overheated the other day when it was a 100 degrees out. I pulled right over and when i looked under the hood the degas bottle had thick goop all over it. It looked like my coolant turned into pudding. I let the truck cool all the way down and drove it 1 mile back to my shop.
The truck is an 04 f350 w/ 135,000 miles and no warranty.
What is my next course of action?
any and all help is appreciated.
thanks
DO NOT DRIVE IT.
You have to clean the system out (significant effort required w/ simple green and soap), change all the rubber parts (hoses), and maybe consider a radiator and heater core change-out. Then you change out the oil cooler and the EGR cooler.
Serious engine damage will occur if you drive w/ no coolant flow (water pump doesn't pump pudding).
I agree with mark DONT EVEN START IT
you may also have to pull the front cover and water pump to clean out the pudding mess
your oil leval is also low since its been pumping into the coolant
