I'm taking it your Nuvi wouldn't acquire any satellites? That's too bad. It is frustrating as hell to get a dead in box unit.

hank, mine didn't 'see' where it was until I went outside, away from trees, etc.
It couldn't 'see' the satellites, at first.

My daughter (in her infinite wisdom), said, "Daddy. Give it a minute. Have patience."
It took about 10 minutes.
(I wanted it to work. . . NOW.)

I will take a short ride and see what happens. I keep getting a message saying maps too large pick another, but that dosent work either. Post back

"Out of the Box" they need to be outside with an unobstructed view of the sky. It can take up to 30 minutes for initial - first time - sat acquisition. Once they "learn" where on planet earth they are, it then usually only takes 15 seconds or so. If you are running it off of internal battery, it needs to charge for at least 4 hours. Also using in doors may or may not work depending upon the type of structure you are in.
