New to the forum and am looking for some advice, I have a 08 F450 4X4 6.4 that I use to tow a fifth wheel with and I just had new tires put on; now when coming off hills the harder I brake the more vibration I experience in the steering wheel, hardly notice the vibration without the trailer. I just inspected the front brakes and no signs of hot spots on the rotors and the pads look like new still, any ideas other than a wrapped rotor. The wheels were torqued with a torque wrench when they were installed to 120 ftlbs. Any ideas would be helpful.
Thanks
Yes it has electric brakes in excellent working condition, Ford EBC set at 9.0 trailer weight is 13-13,500 lbs, GCVW is 23-23,500 which is way under for the truck.
I just finished disassembling and inspecting the front brakes, pads look like new, rotors show no signs of heat so I lubed the slides and reassembled then took it for a test run of a couple hard stops from 70mph with no issues so maybe tomorrow I will hook up the trailer and run up and down the hill to see if it really is fixed. Thanks for the feedback so far I really appreciate it.
