Is there a vendor out there that reproduces the duct work for these old trucks? Like many 70's ford owners, my truck hs been pieced together by previous owners and common parts come up missing. I am missing the center register duct work. Not a big deal at the moment b/c the a/c isn't working(next spring project), but come this winter I'd like to have it for the heat.
I have seen a few go on ebay, but they always go for more than I feel they are worth especially since the true condition is hard to judge. I went to the salvage yard and found a few. However, they were all torn or would have been by time I got it out.
No one reproduces the flexible ducting for the a/c and no dealers or obsolete parts suppliers have any either.
This is one of the parts I wish someone would reproduce.
Ok
Go to Dennis Carpenter online and go to the accessaries/ air conditioning section.
They have different size ducting available per foot.
I'll check the link.
Just checked DC, dont have it. Autozone has flexible air ducting. Not sure if its the right size. What connects the duct to the vent? Im assuming I should have an adapter of some sort but some genius OP removed it.
Ok got there answer.
You are right.
Maybe I was in the wrong catalog online.
The ducts in my truck however match what's in their catalog.
So maybe mine were replaced at some point.
I'm actually a bit more confused now. I don't see the old owner of mine replacing anything.
Going back up on the 31st so I'll take a pic of mine and compare.
these hoses are not correct for these trucks
those years used "ducting" and not hoses.* We do not carry what you nee.* Your best bet is probably a swap meet or a "parts truck"

Hi Guys
In your online catalog you have listings for defroster ducting in 3 sizes sold by the foot.
Some of the guys in our forum (FTE) have been plugging in the part numbers but not being able to find it.
I see the numbers as 8H-18556-B, B5A-18556-C and FAB-18556-D is this correct?
Thanks

They come up for sale on evil-bay now and then. I have found one at pick a part before. They are usually very fragile and will tear just trying to get them out.
If you can find one that just has some holes in it but the clamps and wire frame are in good shape, you can stretch it out and cover it with a piece of thin cotton fabric (about twice around) soaked with spray on headliner cement. Let it dry overnight then work it until it will accordion to the original length and check for any loose fabric edges. Spray it again if needed. The glue will seal it and waterproof it, if you soak it completely on both sides with glue.
I know it's not perfect but it works and it only takes about 30min, its better than not having one!!!!
I have been running one like this for 5 years with no problems.
The 79 model has mostly plastic ductwork that is a direct fit for drivers vent and far passenger vent. The main middle vent is available at bronco graveyard.
