I've been given the blessing from the House Appropriations Committee to purchase some much awaited accessories for my truck.
For sure I'm getting a 4" stainless exhaust system MBRP turbo back.
I want to get a DP tuner... I'm leaning toward a F5 since it's half the price of the F6.
So that means I need to get some gages.
I want to get a four gage A pillar mount. Boost, pyro and tuner...
Here's the dilemma. Do I really need a transmission Gage?I've got a 6 speed manual. I do haul my pickup camper and a boat regularly during the summer months.
Second: What kind of gages should I get. It all seems a bit overwhelming at the moment so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm strongly leaning toward making my purchase from Riffraff so keep that in mind when making suggestions.
Considering your fairly light tow weights, I would opt for a fuel pressure gauge over the trans temp. More than once a member has been fouled up by a clogged filter or weak fuel pump. Mount the sender post filter and monitor the gauge for a pressure loss. I plan on adding fuel (and oil pressure) sender inputs to my Aeroforce Scangauge for that very reason. I will swapping out my trans temp gauge with the Aeroforce (3 gauge pod), as it reads the trans temp on the auto trans already plus several more handy parameters. Just my 2 cents.
Congrats on your bill being be passed.
I got all of my stuff from Clay also.
4" - great idea
F5-...thats what I got also, however I'm already sick of pulling it for mods/updates/new tunes. If the funding is there I would opt for the F6. I'll be pulling mine again soon for trans tuning..... I may just get the F6 this round. Jody can email you updates, new tunes, ect...on the F6.
Not sure about needing a trans temp gauge for a 6speed? But would definetly get a pyro and boost gauge. If you get a three hole pillar you could always get the round swither from DP to fill a hole ( I love mine ), or even get a fuel pressure gauge.
Here is a pic of what I got from Clay. (never mind the arrow)
