I'd go for the one with the two year warranty.

I'm going to look into one of these inexpensive Chinese PGR starters for the next time mine decides to fail.
DB Electrical seems to have one that will work with my manual transmission.

I have the DB unit for standard transmissions on it's way.
JBG only offers one for a flexplate, not a flywheel, that I see.

Will report with results.
I have gone through 5 reman starters since Christmas....

I would say that is a good price. (depends on shipping & handling)
Nice to see it's brass!
I'm used to paying $35 locally for my '87's A/C heater core.

I use Auto Zone starters. Who cares if you get a bad one when there is a lifetime warranty with no receipt, no brainer.

I used a starter from Advanced.
They have swapped it out four times in six months now.
I need the truck to work, not snap the snout off or destroy the support bearing.

I told them.... in fact I bought FROM them a late model flywheel.
When I needed a clutch that would fit my ZF-5 swap.

They keep saying there's no difference in starters.

Then WTF do they offer a late model gear reduction starter for each application????

But they keep telling me I'm wrong and don't know what I'm doing.

The manager is a corporate idiot who probably can't change his own oil and also doesn't believe I could have put a 3G alt or an 80457s carb on there either.

F that!
My DB starter will be here tomorrow!

So what makes the Chicom DB starters better than the one from Bronco Graveyard?

Not better.
JBG doesn't sell one for a standard transmission.
The flywheel is thicker than a flexplate and the bendix gear doesn't retract enough to clear the ring gear on a flywheel.
The engine starts and the flywheel hangs up and drives the starter every time.
Until it destroys the bendix gear, the bearings, or snaps the nose right off the starter.

Talking

Well, that was a painless install.
Moved the starter cable to the positive battery terminal and ran a 10ga. primary wire from the fender solenoid to the spade on the starter's solenoid.

It cranks right up and doesn't sound like a cement mixer full of rocks!
YAY!!!

I should have cut my loses and done this months ago.
If the Chicom starter pukes I'll post again.
But for now this thing works GREAT!

Big thumbs up to DB.

Well, I won't be ordering anything else from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard. I was given 1 tracking number for both my heater core and my starter, which currently says its due to deliver tomorrow. I noticed a package on my front door today when I got home from work. I opened it and it was my starter. I didn't get a tracking number for it.

Let me say the reason I ordered my started from JBG is because their website clearly states the starter is "Made in the USA". As it turned out, the starter I received today is clearly marked "Made in China". I purposefully paid an extra $20 for the JBG starter because it was NOT made in China like the ones from DB. Oh well. I also e-mailed JBG about my concerns with the tracking #s and the lies on the website.
