I saw the interview with him this morning on the today show. I didnt hear what he said to the al gezeera (or however that is spelled) But he was very apologetic about the controversy it caused.
Oh well he should know better than to grant an interview without first clearing it with his superiors, especially one such as that.
If NBC were one of the "liberal-mainstream-press," don't you think they'd have kept him, all the while making excuses for his remarks? I applaud NBC for their action; maybe they're just a bit more fair and impartial than some of us are willing to give them credit for.

NBC issued an apology for arnett on Sunday. Then Monday, after the backlash got into full swing, NBC canned him.
CYA is hardly an action I would applaud.
NBC defended him Sunday, saying he had given the interview as a professional courtesy and that his remarks were analytical in nature. But by Monday morning the network switched course and, after Arnett spoke with NBC News President Neal Shapiro, said it would no longer work with Arnett.
NBC is owned by General Electric which is a military contractor. Anyway they did the right thing to dismiss him because IMO, the media should be reporting the news... not making it.
I don't like the way either Fox or NBC reports the war. I don't want to be told what to think by either one. Editorial opinion is fine when given as editorial. But every anchor person and news reader shouldn't be filtering the news through editorial view.
Sorry, but I hadn't heard anything about this until early this morning. A half-hour later, it was reported that NBC had fired him. So, the way I heard it, it sounded as though the network had acted swiftly and decisively. Oh, well.............
I just heard on FOX NEWS this evening that a London paper hired him. I think it was the Globe. He, and his anti-American, anti-war ramblings should fit in well there.

Cliff
Fox just reported that Arnett has already been hired by the liberal London Mirror. Here's the Mirror's website:
Thanks for the correction Alan. I was flabbergasted when I heard someone actually hired him. I was too busy saying to myself "that figures" when I heard London that I missed the name of the paper.
