Not sure if you heard of them or not, but they also carry obsolete parts for cars as well as trucks.

The only thing is, you have to know your Ford part #s to search through their data base.
The 1957/63 Ford Truck Parts Catalog is available on a CD from hipoparts.com.

Woulda chimed in sooner inre to the boot, but was on vacation 7/21-8/7. Then when I got back, it took me a week to read thru/answer Q's in the 1961/66 forum.

Hello and thanks for the tip on the manual. I ordered one from them just after I had ordered the shifter boot. I found their ad in a magazine I was flipping through one day. I'm pretty sure it was a magazine, if not it was brought up in another thread somewhere. I didn't think it would be that detailed, wow. Almost information overload lol. Thanks again for chipping in.

Sorry for the late reply El Jim, been busy at work and dealing with an issue on my own truck. Haven't had the time to check in. Sorry I have no idea on where to locate either of these plates. I am new to the 4 wheeled madness (usually worked on 2 wheels) and have been on a steep learning curve myself. I swear its an addiction lol. The late 50's early 60's trucks are really rare in my area and parts just as rare. Usually nothing at swap meets and have been fishing many sites for parts just to see whats out there and whats available. Mostly for curiosity sake. I will keep an eye out and post it if I see anything. Good luck.

Regarding the metal plate that fits over the tranny, you could try some used wrecking yards. The 4 speeds will have the metal ring. If no luck in your area. Your could try Martin Supply in Colorado. Charles has some older trucks and might be able to help you. He is in Windsor Colo, 970-686-2460. I ordered some stuff from him and he was fast and shipping reasonable. Good luck and let us know if you find the plate.

thanks, finding 4x4 parts for a 60 F100 seems just about impossible. If anyone wants to trade, i have a white, custom cab 4 spd shift ****............

Glad to help. Regarding the transfer case shift boot metal retainer. If you bought the boot or have the original tranny tunnel cover you could measure. I checked mine and the outside margin fits flush with edge of the bottom rubber on the boot. The steel ring has rounded corners inside and out. The holes will match the boot. The steel ring is 0.5 inches wide and .038 inches thick. Steel is bendable. I bet you could make one with some tin snips and a sheet of steel or have one made at a machine shop.

Or you could look for ford 4x4 59-66 years they should have the same boot. Maybe one still has the retainer screwed on tunnel cover.

Good luck
