E4OD/4R100 help

Hello all, I have a 4r100 in my early year 1999 that i had slipping issues in all gears.I removed the tranny and purchased a newone (that i cannot return) it turns out it is a E4od from a late model year 1998. I want to go thru both transmissions and build my 4r. The problem i had was in the torque converter/pump i believe. Anyway what i want to know is will the pump from the late model year 1998 work in the 4r100. and what parts if any are better in the e4 than the 4r that will fit into the 4r.Some help onthis would be greatly appreciated as im already into this tranny for stupid $$$$. Thank you
