That seems about the same as me, and I've got 4.10s...
If you still have the door tag, the axle code will tell you.

No tag will tell you if the tach is off or if the PO changed gears and didn't document it. I assume I have 3.55 gears but at 55MPH, I see 1850-1900 RPM. My timing meter is 200-300 RPM lower than my tach. Check that out first.

4.10's or higher if your tachometer is accurate. No way it's 3.55 unless you have other transmission issues.

There were only 2 popular gears in the pickups 4.10 and 3.54. What does the axle code in the door say?

Wanna be certain? Drop the cover off (after draining it), count the number of teeth on the ring gear (larger one) then count the teeth on the pinion gear. divide the amount of ring gear teeth by the number of pinion teeth. The result is your ratio. Its always a good thing to service your axle anyway. Lots of people forget it...

True but the likelihood of them having been changed is also fairly high. Myself and a guy I talked to yesterday both had this issue.
