I have a 2000 6.8 V10 Excursion that hasn’t given me any problems until this week. I was delivering a tractor and I arrived turned it off but the max AC was still on. I needed to move it forward so I just started it up and moved it forward 30 feet and turned it back off. When I was ready to leave after 10 minutes I hopped in and fired it up and it wouldn’t run it chugged and had no power then it died and won’t start.
I have gotten it to run with carb cleaner so I determined it was a fuel filter or pump. I changed out the filter still wouldn’t start, changed out the pump still won’t start, tested all fuses and relays still won’t start. I have 10 volts on one lead and 6 volts on the other at the fuel pump connector at the tank I don’t know if that is right and can’t find anything that tells me. If I disconnect the cutoff switch the 10 volts goes away. Any ideas?
You need fuel, ignition (spark for you gassers) and compression......don't forget the basics......bet its ignition if you have fuel pressure .....coil pack ......etc...plugs been changed ever ?
