I have about everything I need from the old Dana 44 days, I could do those in my sleep, but with age comes wisdom or lack of motivation. $300 for labor including the alignment and the shop does quality work, how could I say No.
That's a sweet deal. I'd have gone that route too if I was quoted $300... I got lucky and had a friend who used to be a front end/suspension mechanic in the Bay Area and he had everything we needed. The digital Snap On torque wrench was very helpful
I need to do my drag link like you did the boot is junk but it didnt have any play
I dont know if I can get it close enough to not need the alinment if I did the drag link
Its amazing a half a turn one way or the other can make it or break it
I hope they didnt skimp on quality on my BJ I went with Moogs part of that decision was the lifetime warrentyand the fact lots of guys here used them I didnt know about quality control issues
I just did mine about a month ago. When I was researching it the Motorcraft greasable balljoints were pretty popular. Parts Guy Ed has them for a pretty good price.
I dont know if you've done balljoints before or not Bismic, but I just want to say that it really isnt as bad a job as I was led to believe. Now that I've done it I could do it again in no time.
I didn't see the greaseable ones listed for 2005+ on his website. I'm still waiting to hear back from him as I'd like to get Motorcraft as well.
