Seemed to have been working fine until it got really hot out. I start up and drive off and it does not move for several minutes. Went up about 10 degrees once moving. Sensor issues?
The sensor would be my second thought. My first is if it's getting really hot in the cabin, the electronics might need to cool down a bit, which happens as you drive. If it were the wiring, then it would never work.
Sensor is located behind the grill in front of a/c condenser. It is bolted on a bracket to the core support. You may have to remove the black cover to gain access to it.
Isn't the temp sensor in the front or the truck? Not sure how the inside temp would play a factor.
Yes the sensor is in the front. The inside temperature can be a factor on super hot or super cold days. Electronics have a temperature range which they will properly operate within. Outside of this operating temperature range there is no guarantee of proper operation.
