I have a 48 ford f-6 with a y block in it. The paper work that is with it from the mechanic shop that worked on this truck in the olden days says its a 312. If it is what is one worth that still runs like a champ. The only reason i would remove it is to put a diesel in it. Thanks
Little closer than 46 Y being in eastern ND but I doubt its a 312. Have to check first. 272 and 292s are alot more comon. Still cool to see a Y in an older big truck. Do you realy need a diesel?
If it is a 312, you should get it flipklos. Too far for me though. Remember the saga of my 312. Went from a '57 car to Coca Cola cab over truck, then into an F350. And the guy who transferred it from the coe to F350 never knew it was a 312.
It's worth is subjective. If it were a local pickup it would be worth $300 to me. Keep in mind someone may have to put thousands of dollars into a rebuild.
