Thank you! I still have to paint the inside and replace the front glass and rear rubber but she is slowly moving along. So far including paint and all the repairs I have made over the 2.5 years I have had this truck I'm in it for about $2700 including the price of the truck which was $200 and I gave myself a limit of 5k so I'm doing good. The goal is to restore it mostly 70's era but there will be a mod here or there. I drive this truck about 140 miles a day 5 days a week and I couldnt be happier. I believe I am going to put Raptor Liner in the bed but I would like to see it on a truck in person before I make the final choice. I made the wrong choice a few years go with herculiner in my jeep and regret every bit of it. I will show more Finished pictures when I pull her out of the paint booth on monday.

Very nice project. If I had mine to do over, I would have separated the bed to spray in there too.
The 300 is a great engine, and you can do quite a bit to it. Take a look over at the I6 forum some time. I imagine you have prob. high rear gears, 3.0:1 or thereabouts? That would make a very nice cruising truck.
Take a look at 'Al's spray on liner.' Some of the guys here have used it and liked it. I'd be interested to know what you think.
That sure is a nice looking job you are doing. I have one question, why did you take the mirror and door handle off of the passenger side and not the driver's side? And I want to say X2 on the Al's Liner. DIY Truck Bed Liners!
I'm considering buying the kit and the spray gun to do my bed, interior, under the cowl panel, and some other assorted parts with it.
The passenger door was from a donor truck, with different mirror setup so I patched the holes up. I would have taken the mirror off the drivers side but it gave me more trouble then I wanted to deal with that morning. I live 70 miles from my school and didn't want to take a chance of no mirrors and a ticket if I couldn't get it back on. (and yes the cops are like that here) As for the handle I had to be able to open the door to get back in and with the hinge being warn out the door would have hung open if I took the striker off. I will check out Al's liner.

Good luck.
I believe Its a 3.50:1 with my 3 on the tree, would the 3.0:1 give me better mileage? I sure could use it.
Well shes out of the booth for now, I still have to paint the inside but I'm going to wait until I replace my windshield and do it all at the same time. I still need to paint the rims white, thought I would do them the Coral color but I think that might be too much. I'm also thinking about paint the underhood area all black with a low gloss single stage. I just dont want to go over board with the Coral as its a strange color. Now I have to start saving up for the Side trim and windshield and lights ( plastic ones are faded )
Fresh out of the booth
Happy at home
Yes, the higher gears would give you better mpg, but you would loose your hauling/towing somewhat. The gears you have are great for a 300. Down the road sometime you might want to think about an overdrive trans like a ZF manual. For a 2x sb you can find them for around 4-$500.
