I tried washing them, that helped a little but not much. I used carpet tape and that seems to be helping, but still not perfect.
Since you already have the mats...do they at least fit the floor well? Other than the problem with sliding around, are they acceptable? I haven't ordered them yet. If I do, I'll figure out a way to keep them from sliding.
Have you thought about a rubber bonding agent like this? The drawback is that it may be permanent. You could always use it to adhere the plastic velcro to the floor and mats separately.
That is just one product I found when I googled rubber bonding adhesive.
