Is this how the addiction begins?
just got my first 48 f1 last week and I'm finding myself perusing craigslist, ebay, and the classifieds. Ran into this locally about five miles away:
"Disposing of the many duplicate or not used early Ford parts collected while building a project car. Good 8BA flathead block with crank, pistons, rods, heads. 40 banjo rear axle, 2 early transmissions, late 30's Ford truck radiator, new 35-36 streering wheel, Edelbrock Super Dual intake for pre 49 engine, F1 front brake backing plates, 37-40 spindles, 40 rear brake backing plates, 37 driveshaft, rear radius rods, 32 steering box, 8BA distributors, starter, 8BA bell housings (one adapts Chevy V8 to early ford transmission), clutch parts, oil pans, exhaust manifolds, more. $800 takes all. Not interested in separating individual parts."
the 8BA block/parts are what interested me most, but the laundry list of parts here makes me wonder if the whole collection is worth investigating. I'm already looking ahead to a project truck. thoughts? worth looking into? is this how the addiction begins?

Look at it and inspect closely for any cracks. If it's in decent shape, offer him $500 and try to settle somewhere between $600-700. The guy already built his car, so this is just stuff in his way. If you show up with a truck (and/or trailer) and flash hundred dollar bills in front of his face, I bet he'll sell.

I bought four big plastic totes to put my latest "acquisitions" in last night. One word of warning, perusing craigslist and ebay AFTER you buy your truck can get you in trouble. See my signature. The good deal (i.e. the truck you SHOULD have bought) always pops up right after you buy the one you have.

Ilya,
If we're posting pictures of our addiction here's mine:
A word of warning, it can spread to other types of vehicles. My latest affliction is a '37 Buick Special, I'm on my 4th one.
The original car:
The first parts car:
The second parts car:
The third parts car (hopefully the last):
