trying to get some ideas before I really start trouble shooting.

Howdy all!
I have a ongoing odd problem. My vehicle will idle high and then low at different times during driving and at idle on both tanks. The only way to correct it is to change tanks. The INSTANT I change tanks it smoothes back out..I mean it is INSTANTAINUOSLY(?). I can swtch tanks and then switch right back to the other tank and it runs finer than frogs fur!
Any I deas?
I have aksed this before on another thread I started but I have new symptoms so I started another thread w/same issue.
Thanks!
Ian

Ian, the only thing I can think of is something inside the tank selector module might be making poor contact creating electrical noise, switches .. motor? CPS does not like electrical noise floating around. How often does it do it? You might try switching to a tank of choice then unplug the electrical connector on the tank selector module and see if the issue returns.

Keith Stone. The switch works fine...it is just what I need to do to "fix" the idle.
Jim, It CAN happen at anytime....but NORMALLY happens soon after start up. Can I just pull a fuse to take that component out of the loop?
Thanks

I didn't' say the switch was bad. I just said you might have a short someplace, which is same thing that Jim said.
I just suggested it was in the dash, not in the tank selector.

Could be Talyn. If I take out the fuse and isolate that component? I don't know what else it effects right now

Fuse #6 in cab 15A controls that and Heater/AC, (hope your not in the heat wave) and also remote key less entry module. That would be my first choice instead of trying to unplug the module in question .. ya can always put the fuse back in.
