Desentigrating 4x4 Hub...
Just started tearing into my automatic hubs for the third time, finally putting warn lockers on it. I got the locking part of the hub out and I'm finding little chunks of the one gear washer thing. I'll try to get pics later. Do I need the washer thing with the new hubs? Thanks.

The only thing you should need with the WARN hubs is the locking ring that is on the inside of the hub. You need to take that out so you can get the old, automatic hubs out. Once you get that out (then clean and re-pack everything), the WARN hubs should just slide in, you put the locking ring back in the same spot, and then put on the screws that hold on the outer cover to the WARN hub. Oh, to get the WARN hub back far enough to get the locking ring on, you might need to take a crow bar and GENTLY AND SLIGHTLY pull back on the axle where it goes into the hub so that you have enough room to put the locking ring on. If you need pics, there are some on the internet that talk about this. I found this out the hard way: was driving not too long after I installed the new WARN hubs and one of the WARN hubs fell out (holy sh!at) while driving because I didn't have that locking ring fully seated. I had to do what I mentioned above with the crow bar to get it in fully.
