Even thought I'm asking a question about a 1966 truck, I'm posting it here too due to the possible relevance to the 67-72 model.
I've got a 1966 F100 4x4 long box that has the stock drum brakes at all four corners. I picked up Dana 44 front axle out of a '79 Bronco that I'm planning to swap in so I can take advantage of the disc brakes on it.
My question is this... can I use a "stock" proportioning valve out of a newer (67-72 or 73-79) F100 or F150 long box 4x4 that has discs in front and drums in the rear? My biggest concern is getting something that has the correct front/rear bias. I've seen aftermarket replacement valves for Broncos, but I wasn't sure if they would be configured differently given the shorter wheelbase and altogether vehicle.
