i was at pick n pull sunday and monday, and ive seen a 1970 f-250 with power steering in it. the steering box is located behind the crossmember between that member and the firewall, the box looks identical to my manual steering box, was wondering if it is worth my time and money to grab the entire steering box with pump and steering wheel, or should i hunt around for a different one. im not sure which steering box it is, (the truck at pnp).
ive been pulling parts off it for my disc-drum swap out. so far ive pulled the master cylinder, booster, booster bracket and proportion valve, next trip i will pull the disc and calipers, and the calipers are the dual piston type.
also at this pnp there are a few 67-72 trucks most 250 and a few 150 trucks, alot of good body parts on them and a couple 67-68 front grills a couple of them like mine chrome and one that has been painted green to match the truck.
i also scored a set of mirrors from a bronco and retractable seat belt set up for my truck. already installed the seat belts on sunday, so i could put in a new car seat (barcolounger) for my son.
Yes on the power steering - they were the same for years and years. Better yet, the sector is used on bigger trucks - not sure of the 10 ton, but for sure on the 5 ton trucks.
There are two types, both just bolt in and are much better than Armstrong steering!
