What trans?

I'm trying to figure out which trans my 2005 Limited 4x4 has. The code on the door says 4, but the owners manual does not list a 4. The code for a CD4E is Y. I want to order a Transgo JR shift kit, but they only list a CD4E up to 2004. The build date is 07/04.

The only automatic transmission that has ever been used in the conventional Escape is the CD4E.

The VC label code for the CD4E is "4", not "Y".

09 Ford did away with the cd4e and went with the 6fmid which means 6 speed,front drive,mid size.

The '09 uses the 6F35, 6F50 in the Edge and 6F55 in the new Explorer/Taurus SHO.

Good points. I only checked through 08 which both covers his vehicle and the limit of my WSMs. I should have indicated the limit of my checks.
