Sounds exactly like my Ex. 05 black PSD with 67k and a worn out arm rest. I added Wet Okole seat covers and love them. Love my Ex so far, looking forward to many years to come. Got our fourth child coming next week so the Ex will come in very handy. Here's a pic of my seat covers.
That looks really nice. I have a black/tan one as well. Do you have a link to where those seat covers are available?
pics aren't a problem. While I am not a wiz in the engine bay, I do my fair share of computer/internet work. I guess consider this a post towards my future abilities in the forum.
Nice VAsheriff, that'll help him with his 25 post. Looking for mods, does it have an aftermarket exhaust or air filter? That will give you a start, so you know how far to look in the engine compartment.
Can you list the Top 15 things you like about Excursions please?
Just so I can keep up, can you list each thing in a seperate reply too please.
I don't want to upset the forum gods, so I will keep it to one post.
When I was getting my license, I did the test drive with the evaluator in a 1976 Chevy Suburban 454 4 barrell. Keep in mind this was in the mid 90's too. My dad loved his suburbans I missed that big SUV feeling.
I love the sound of the diesel at idle
The towing capacity is great
I can lay down across the 2nd row seat and sleep if needed
my wife can lay down and sleep across the 3rd row
This has a REAL 3rd row for my kids, not just a glorified folding chair and no leg room
the 3rd row still allows plenty of storage behind it
My dad now owns a 2002 8.1 liter suburban and I wanted to give him a little competition.
I love the sound of the diesel taking off
I am a bit of a power adder nut, previously owning two SVT cobras, and currently owning a 2011 WRX and 1996 supra.
My Ex is a 05 black limited, and I have always loved the full black trucks. This looks like it should be in a presidential motorcade.
My wife actually likes the truck, and she doesn't readily admit she likes much
My oldest (just turning 3 in August) calls it his monster truck and never wants to ride in anything else.
Upgrade in every way from my Jeep Commander (except the 0% financing and the fact that I bought the Commander new)

Well here is the thing. I know it has an aftermarket tip, but the dealership said that they removed items from it for inspection, but wouldn't tell me what they removed. I am pretty sure there were atleast some types of lights, since there is an aftermarket switch in the front that doesn't control anything at this time. It might have been a winch though, I am not sure. The airbox is stock and I THINK the exhaust is stock, based on the bends. I haven't spent much time under the hood of these, so I might be missing some things. I am concerned if a chip was added or any suspension maybe. I will try to get some pics up shortly and you might be able to tell from that.

The Ex is the King of the SUVs.
Oh we're going to get along just fine .
My dad has an '01 Excursion and we're a little competitive. He was upset when he learned my 315s were larger than his 285s.
We'll figure out how your truck is equipped this weekend. So, tell us what you intend to tow with it.

I have a 2011 Rockwood 27' traveltrailer. Its my 1st TT, so I started with something that had enough room for the family, but was small enough for my Jeep Commander to pull. Now that I have the X, I should be able to pull it without dreading those hills and high winds. I've camped with my parents in their trailer when I was younger and love it. Before I made the "investment" in the TT, I tent camped. My wife enjoys camping as well, but we needed to buy the largest tent in the world, have an air matress, air sofa, etc etc. While I do enjoy roughing it, the "home" she made in the tent was nothing short of amazing.

Nice. Sounds like we have a similar set up. Forest River seems to make a pretty decent product. We just bought our 2010 Flagstaff 831RKSS last year and really enjoy it. Before the trailer, we tent camped but with the kids, as you know, tents aren't the greatest for long stays. Not to mention when it rains. One of my projects this weekend is to wash and wax the trailer.
If you were to pull that TT with the Commander you will be amazed at the ease of towing with the Ex. We bought a 2011 Rockwood Pup earlier this year and love it. Looking forward to the day we can upgrade to a full size TT. We can keep the Pup in the garage so we don't have to pay for storage. We started out tent camping with the family and friends and got tired all the set up work and especially getting wet. Seems Like we have very similar tastes in trucks and trailers.

Are the Pups like the ROOs? We were going to get a ROO, but decided against it when my father and the salesman ripped the tent part of the fold down, while trying to get it set up. While I am not the most technical person, seeing a life-long camper and a camper salesman screw it up...I knew that my time would be sooner than expected.

We're heading down to Mrytle Beach in August, so I have a date with the wash and wax very soon. I like the layout of your TT. That outside kitchen must be pretty nice to have.
