I just bought an 05 Black PSD with a bit over 70k miles. It looks to be in really good condition and I am excited at the purchase. We're looking to expand the family to 3 little ones and we pull a travel trailer, so I think this is just what we need. The interior only has one issue that I can see, which is a worn drivers arm rest. Other than that, I see no flaws.
Thanks for the welcome. I love the sound of the PSD, and will probably poke around the 6.0 forum to see if there are some really simple mods to make the sound louder and the smoke blacker. Considering some of the reading I have done on the forum already, I will probably be looking for potential issues on the 6.0 PSD platform. If I treat it nice, I hope it will play nice for me.

Absolutely! Bulletproof it before investing much in mods. There's 3 or 4 things to do right away if they haven't been done already. It's all in these forums if you take time to look for the major areas of 6.0L diesel malfunction. I have a V-10, so I don't recall all of them, never had to deal with them.
Not sure on '05 but on my 2000 I just pulled the leather cover off the armrest and flipped it over keeping it on the driver's side. Yours may be different though.
Enjoy your new truck and FTE, we have a lot of great people here.

That's really interesting. I never would have thought of doing that.
Ok, question time. I believe my truck was modified in some way. Whats the best way of finding out what the truck has done to it? I'm not terribly saavy to the insides, etc and would be willing to pay for it to be looked at, even if its a FTE member locally to the Washington DC/Baltimore area.
If the arm rest is just a little worn on the top side, you can always swap with passenger side. Giving you 2 never used sides.

I was wrong, LivingLarge is correct. The covers do swap seats, sorry, it's been a while.
Sounds exactly like my Ex. 05 black PSD with 67k and a worn out arm rest. I added Wet Okole seat covers and love them. Love my Ex so far, looking forward to many years to come. Got our fourth child coming next week so the Ex will come in very handy. Here's a pic of my seat covers.
I'm kind of close, certainly wouldn't take your money for checking it out. I work in D.C. and am about 30 min. west of Frederick, MD. Just have a busy schedule here in the next couple weeks. Where are you located?
We also tow a travel trailer. I can't help ya much with the 6.0 (I have the 7.3) but might be able to with the rest of the truck.

Congrats and once again, Welcome to the club!
Actually I live in Frederick, MD. I camp out in Harper Ferry and Hagerstucky all the time. If you wouldn't mind taking a look at it, I would certainly appreciate it.
I wouldn't mind at all. I'll be around this weekend getting the trailer ready for a trip. I don't think you can send a pm yet, you need more posts, maybe 25? I'll try and pm you.
