All . . . . . . Related to the "Shuddering" problem . . . . how does the torque relate to the shuddering problem? Don't understand how the torque converter works. Does the TC select a gear, and then goes away? If you are in a gear, is the TC still in the picture? Can the TC try to change gears again? How does locking out gears affect the TC??
The torque converter is a viscous coupling... it it what connects the engine to the transmission. It does not have anything to do with selecting gears, and it is always in the picture.
