Unknown electrical problem

Unknown electrical problem
A co-worker has a problem with his 2001 Ex v10...From what he tells me these are the problems:
1. Truck wont start with key, only with electric start button (aftermarket).
2. All gauges on dash work except for fuel (always full).
3. overhead milage til empty wont move. Possible relation to #2 issue.
4. Radio wont turn on.
I haven't seen the truck in person, this is what he is telling me verbally. From what he also says is that it all started to happen at the same time. Problems that is.
I've told him to chk his fuses and all that stuff.

He bought the vehicle used and it was installed. He's had it for several months now.
