Any ideas or opinons would be helpful, I have a 2011 F-350 Lariet with 3:73 gears and aggressive tires was thinking about doing the truck pulls but i cant make up my mind forsure. Happens tomorrow (saturday) so i guess we'll see. thanks in advance.. Brian
As long as you use some common sense when the weight starts to get up on the sled and avoid the wheel hop, you should be fine. My nephew pulls his 7.3 SRW a few times a summer and he has not broke at a truck pull yet.
ok that is something i almost forgot was the wheel hop that might happen towards the end. What is the best mode to have the truck in? should it be in tow/haul mode, or manual or just drive. Was thinking about trying manual mode but tow/haul mode seems more smarter... Brian
As long as you're running stock power levels you'd be highly unlikely to break anything. These things are designed to pull at WOT for long durations which is necessary for pulling heavy up hills. And that's with every ft-lb going through the rear driveline.
With the truck pull you're splitting the torque between the two axles proportional to the weight distribution of the truck. Shouldn't hurt a thang!
O boy was that amesome!! Truck did great and i was able to pull off a 2nd place. The truck out performed trucks with thousands of dollars of mods and it did great. Pulled a 313 foot full pull and the winning truck pulled a 327 foot and was a modded duramax with stacks. Sorry guys i didnt get a video but i have pictures. With all the people there im sure a video will end up on u-tube in a couple days. Oh and by the way nothing broke, it was smooth and quiet and no wheel hop. I will see if i can get the pictures up yet this weekend.... Brian

Congratulations Brian. I'll bet more than a few modders were pretty upset to see a factory truck outdo them.
That pull must have been in Michigan.. I can tell by that big green and yellow machine's wheels We've had some trades from up there with the skinny wheels. Did that pull by the way? LOL
Good color on the truck. Glad it pulled well. I see the DOT number on the side, what do you use it for every day?
Great job Brian...where was the event held? I grew up in the Thumb and my daughter lives in Kingston...sort of
Minden City, Mich.

I use it for many different things, I have a cabinet shop so i use it to haul tools and cabinets to job sites. I needed to DOT for the business cause of the size of the trailer and truck.
