Base timing 96 7.5
What is the base timing for a 96 7.5 ford f250.The service guy at ford says it's 0 but it doesn't run good at that setting.I set it with the spout connector removed.The sticker says there's no adjustment but there is.

Spark Output (SPOUT): Desired spark timing information sent from the PCM to the ICM.
There is a shorting bar that you remove to disconnect the computers output to the ICM when using the timing light to set base timing.
Then the computer assumes 10 deg BTDC base timing and when the SPOUT shorting bar is back in it will advance the timing from that point.
