Rough Start and idle when engine cold

Looking for some input. Truck has been doing this and now getting worse. 06 f250 6.0 147,000 miles. Runs like crap when you first start and truck has trouble shifting when I first take off in the mornings until it warms up then it idles fine and runs like a champ no problem shifting. Not in a cold climate 40°F at the least. Not trying to take it to the dealer and get raped. Been doing research some people say get the inductive heat flash, some say needs new injectors, some say could have a bad gasket on the injector idk. I'm trying trying to get it resolved without spending an arm and a leg so please help.

start by checking the voltage to the FICM. Before anything, its just a simple test and the procedure is in the tech folder at the top of the forum page. I was dealing with this with my new to me truck two weeks ago. first I changed the oil and added some stiction eliminator but it didn't help, after I checked the voltage at the FICM It read 47 with key on but as soon as I started it it would drop to35-40. it did not sound good at all. Also if you feel like it follow the instructions in the tech folder about the diy fix. that's what I did and it worked like a charm. not supper difficult at all.

I second testing the FICM voltage.. I just experienced exactly what you describe.. Ordered a rebuilt FICM exchange from Ficmrepair.com on Saturday. I used the ficm testing info I found here... Super simple...

Harley1990,
Mine did this to me also for some time before it finally threw a bunch of codes. Turned out to be the FICM failing all along. Test the voltages either manually or via a scanner. B.
