Yeah, I'm starting to think 155s will be plenty for my applications. My truck is already fast enough that no other truck or stock sports car (SS Camero, Mustang GT...etc) can touch it, and that's just with Matt's tunes and a tuned FICM. The only things that have been able to walk off and leave me (and I knew they would, I just did it for the fun of it) was a supercharged cobra and a friend's corvette, and then I also had the opportunity to go up against a 900 horse Ford GT...HOLY *****!!! That thing hit 60 before I ever got to 30!

Anways...how difficult is it to change out injectors and/or glow plugs by one's self? The reason I ask is because 1)I doubt I'm gonna have the money to do all this stuff all at once, so my order is probably gonna be:
1)Powermax
2)Studs/Gaskets - do the heads have to be machined when having this done? And what size gaskets do the 03s take?
3)Fuel System
4)Injectors
5)Who the hell knows after all that...

So I'd like to not have 5k racked up in just labor costs. I found a very reputable shop here locally that does studs (cab off) for $3,500 and that covers parts, labor, machining the heads, and then they also do an entire truck service (oil, coolant, transmission...everything). That sound reasonable or high?

And the reason I ask about glow plugs is because I got a friend who's truck is throwing a code for "Cyl #1 glow plug circuit". Does this mean bad glow plug or bad wiring? How hard are they to change?

Since you have an 03 like mine....we have different oil rails. just un bolt it and move it out of the way but dont completely disconnect the rail.

The turbo was harder to get in than the injectors....Just take your time and make everything is clean and torqued properly.....you can do all of it in a day.

Thanks man. Is there a ton of stuff you have to take out and move out of the way?

Also, do you know about the glow plugs. The truck that that would be in would be an 06. So it will be the different oil rail.

P.S. - How does that Powermax sound compared to your original turbo?

Drivers side needs the degas bottle, ficm, ficm support bracket, intake tubing off to get to the valve cover...the passenger side well...its pretty easy to get to the valve cover on that one.

Not sure what the oiling system looks like on an o6, I just know its not the same.

Are your glow plugs bad? if not I wouldnt touch them.....

The sound is the same as an 03 turbo...loud as hell....Yippie!!!!

My friend's truck (06 350 SRW 6.0) was throwing a P0671 code for cylinder #1 glow plug circuit code but his truck runs great. He reset the PCM and hasn't gotten it yet but he's only driven on it for a few miles so far. But I just wanted to know how difficult they are to get to in case we wind up replacing a glow plug or the GPCM.

Awesome. That was the one thing I was dreading about it cause I figured it sounded more like the 04-07 turbos. Good to hear.

Yeah, I heard they were a PITA to get off. Do you know how the cylinders are numbered?

most forward ( to the radiator) on the passenger side is #1, 3, 5, 7

Drivers side goes 2, 4, 6, 8 front to back.

So #1 is closer to the cab or the radiator?

How much did the studs and gaskets set you back all together? What size gaskets does the 03s take?

Gaskets were bout 300 for intake to the heads....buy only OEM...18mm dowel size.

Studs were 400 bucks of the interweb....

My dad and I did them on the weekend. started friday night I machined the heads saturday night. fired it up sunday night....and its happy as a clam.
