possible new EB owner

Hey guys..new here..I may be trading in my 2010 Dodge 2500 with the 6.7L cummins in for a 2011 F150 supercrew with the Eco-Boost. I test drove one today and wow was I really impressed!! My dodge has a H&S mini maxx programmer and it gets up and moves pretty well but this new EB engine in the ford feels just as strong practically!! The drive and ride quality totally blew my mind though. After a year in my dodge the ford felt like I was riding on air. I know thats partly due to it being a half ton vs a 3/4 ton but still it was impressive!

Has any one else here switched from a diesel into a EB? does anyone regret it? Any problems with these new engines so far or the truck itself?...the truck I'm looking at getting has the 3.55 rear axle ratio...from the little bit I have read on here and another forum it seems the 3.55 is a good median for fuel mileage and towing power..am I wrong?

Im pretty excited about this truck and I hope to get it either tomorrow or friday morning..will post pics when/if I end up getting it!

I traded my f250 diesel in for the ecoboost. It is so much easier to maneuver and the ride is much smoother.

I do miss the crew cab and full 8' box. But I can cope with it and be happy I'm not spending tons of cash on diesel.

I kinda miss the loud whistle of my turbo and the diesel sound. But that's ok. My three year old just makes racing sounds for me.

what cab style do you have?...the truck Im looking at picking up is the "supercrew" I believe thats right..but the backseat is very large I thought?...yeah a 8ft box is nice when you have alot of stuff to haul but Im going with the 6.5ft box mostly because I just think the 8ft box makes the F150 look kinda goofy with such a long back end..8ft boxes to me look much more "normal" on a superduty for some reason..its prolly just all in my head but o well haha

I have a 5in Turbo back exhaust on my 2010 dodge and Im sure I will miss the turbo whistle and the sound it makes when I romp on it but I'm sure theres a company out there that will (or maybe does and I just dont know about it?) make a exhaust for these EB's that will get some of that turbo whistle out for us to hear!

SuperCrew is right...you'll see it referred to as "SCrew" on here quite often. That cab is only available in 5.5' and 6.5' bed lengths. I believe you have to get the 6.5' bed to get max tow, but the other guys here can give you more insight as to that.
The back seat in the SCrew is huge. It's another 4" longer than my '06 SCrew and my passengers have plenty of room, never a complaint.

Happy hunting!

well the first dealer I "thought" I had a deal with tried screwing me around once I drove 50 miles to see them...They told me multiple times they would do a even swap for my dodge and then when I got there they brought out a piece of paper that had a final total of me to owe a little over 7 grand!!!..if anyone on here is located in Kansas around the Wichita area DO NOT go to Rusty Eck Ford!!..total A-holes!!!

So I walked out of rusty eck very angry and on my way home I stopped off at the other Ford dealer in Wichita (Mel Hambelton Ford) and after walking around the lot I found a '11 EB SCrew with the 5.5ft bed that had a sticker price that was almost 3grand higher than the one I was trying to get at rusty eck...it has a chrome package and side steps and some other options that added up to be almost 3g more(I'm rounding up a touch to make this easier)

So I went inside with the sales man and waited while they appraised the value of my truck and they at first came back with a deal requiring me to front a few thousand dollars(at this point I was ready to just get up and walk out and give up on this whole thing) but I decided to tell the sales man that what I wanted was a flat out swap...he said ok and he would be back...I waited prolly 30 mins before he came back and said good news they accepted the swap...I was MUCH happier at this point!

So after a pile of paper work yah-da-yada and waiting for them to clean and detail up the EB I rolled off the lot in a brand new EB!!! =D

right now the computer says Im getting 17.4mpg average and while cruising home around 72 mph the instant mpg bar was over the 17.4 mark in (im assuming) the low to mid 20s range...it drives SOOO smooth and is amazingly quiet inside the cab..the sales man helped me "sync" my phone and I made a few calls on the way home and the clarity is great! This truck may not have the big bad look and feel my dodge had but it makes up for it in technology and ride quality!

sorry for the long winded post I've just had a long eventful day and I'm extremely happy with my decision to switch into this truck! Im taking it for its first road trip tomorrow up to Ft. Collins, Colorado..I cant wait to see how it performs up in the mountains!

was to dark to take a pic by the time I got home so I will take some tomorrow and upload them!

WOW! That deal fell right in your lap dude! I'd make it a point to show the first dealer what he missed out on.

Congrats bro and enjoy, I know I do.

Nice man. I really like the look of the tuxedo black trucks but for me I spend alot of time on rough dirt roads and off road when I'm hunting and guiding so black will shows scratches way to easy. I had a black 07 chevy and it looked good when washed and waxed but it sure didn't last long lol.

Thanks for the comments guys this truck is deff a good fit for me. Leaving in a few hours for Colorado. Will let ya know how it does in high altitudes and on gas mileage!

Welcome To the EB family! I have had mine since mid april and have been nothing but impressed! Glad to hear you traded in your Dodge cummins for an ecoboost. That is the truck I was looking at until Ford came out with the EcoBoost. The twin turbos kick out more than enough torque in my Max Tow to not miss the cummins. And I sure like the price at the pump compared to the diesel.

Well were stopped for the night on our trip and after pushing a head wind going 80 mph and over a bit my truck was able to get 18.9 mpg. Not to bad I think for the speed and head wind the entire time. I'm sure if we dropped our speed it would have been closer to 20. No wind would have deffinatly helped! So far I am very happy with the gas mileage and I have nothing but good things to say about how it rides down the highway! I know I made the right choice on trading in my cummins!
