having starter problems/flywheel problems. <a href="http://www.motorhaven.com/">400m </a>starter and bellhousing, with a '69 <a href="http://www.motorhaven.com/">429 </a>, and a <a href="http://www.motorhaven.com/">390 </a>flywheel. found out why teeth are getting buggered. <a href="http://www.motorhaven.com/">390 </a>fly has 184 teeth while 400 fly has 164 teeth and also different diameters. What i need to know is what way is the best way to go. Also can a 300 fly fit. Engine is internal balance.

A simple solution most do not think about. Take your flywheel to a machine shop and have them flip the ring gear and surface the flywheel. The ring gear will get damaged on the starter drive side but usually the engine side is like brand new. I hope this helps.
