I used to have Kirby and Prozit on my ignore list but for some reason it drove me nuts not knowing what stupidity they were telling others. Now I just e-elbow drop them a few times and they usually remain quiet for the rest of the night.

k so it seems that we all agree to keep things nice, and off topic stuff in the off topic/bs threads.

So does this mean more people will post in. This section? Idk, maybe but my guess not right away.

Are we a really that intimidating? I don't really think so.

I would like to see more people post in here tho, as like Rob said, someone might have a new idea.

I guess I'm done rambling now, n I for one hope we don't blow this.

bwahahaha!!!!! nice celeb look alike. never noticed the resemblance till now.

i'm trying to think of a coherent politically correct nice way to comment on this topic, but all that's popping into mind is joe350. he came in here and gets a ton of ribbing over things, but he's a good sport about it. he asks a lot of questions and takes the good with the bad. he pokes back with jokes too and so far hasn't got butthurt over anything.

point being, newbs should look at joe as an example. he came in, asked some dumb questions here and there, but keeps his cool when he's in the wrong and he ends up with the correct info. if joe can fit in around here i don't see why others would be scared to post up.

p.s. ironically today is newb tuesday, so let the new threads with poorly asked questions fly

it's true though. other than whack&stack he's about the only other newb that sticks around and posts regularly. and w&s i think his name is josh, seems to be pretty well up on things and knows what he's talking about, so joe is basically the only newb.

Short answer NO.

They do it because when they read through here we only get the ones wanting a to be big tough keyboard rambo's. Allowing room would just continue exactly what we are changing.

So NO there isn't any room anymore, things are going to change period end of discussion. This isn't going to be discussion about what you want the rules to be it is going to be a discussion about what the rules WILL be.

Seems there is only a couple that have a problem understanding this.

I understand completely. Its really no different than the rules were 6-8 years ago when most of us joined and what is brought up and reinforced periodically between then and now.

I think I worded that post incorrectly anyway. What I really meant was: how about warnings and etc against newbs who pick fights. Like Tom and I were discussing ignoring them simply doesnt work.

Basically the way its been, and the gripe Ive had for quite a while, is the mods can nip this in the bud within the first few post if they choose to but it seems they'd rather let the newbs slide (to drum up more new business for the site) and reprimand the guys who have been here for years because they probably wont go anywhere and the sites numbers/traffic wont drop.

More importantly, since this thread contains zero tech, is it considered a BS thread now

Personally I'm not intimidated by anyone in here but I do know they have some knowledge to give when decided to do so. I'm sure these guys know more about 460 stuff then I'll ever know.
I can see why newbies would shy away from posting here as the BS talk and criticism scares them away. Seems like I've seen many threads started by guys that don't even report back on solutions as thread gets trampled on and turned into nonsense.
I use to post in more frequently but I got to a point where it was a waste of time as I knew everytime it always turned into a conflict.
As for new ideas in the past I've not been shy to show some new ideas and builds. This always turns to flaming and I see why these guys don't show there own work on here like really when do they post anything of there own work or projects.
Are they too afraid to get flamed themselves? Sad.
Either that or they just truly are web wheelers.

Any other forums whether here (73-79) or pirate I never have a single conflict!
Ill get defensive when it's thrown in my face but there seems to be a big attitude over here.
I get PM's all the time on 4x4 questions and build stuff from guys that don't post in here. Hell I pm guys from threads started in the offroad section sometimes so I don't have to deal with the nonsense.

This forum has turned into a group of " super buddies" that no one wants to associate with.

I believe Moderators need to take charge to clean out the garbage ( myself included sometimes in my comments) and weed out the guys that don't follow with. I can guarantee you I've never complained but I would love to see a forum where everyone can post and not get all the bs that comes with!!!

Once the crap and non followers are removed people will start to come back to this section eventually and it could be a good section for tech and a few laughs...

I'm glad to see this post.

I'm not intimidated, more appauled at the rudeness and crudeness.

I not sure if my opinion matters to you but I am encouraged by this post anyway.

I have to agree with this observation about 99.5%

The "super buddies" comment was dead-on. I don't think people are afraid to post but simply don't want to take the crap that goes with it.

Also (especially as far as 4-wheeling goes) there's not always a right and wrong. I'm more interested in a moderately priced rig with a full body, 1-ton straight axles and leaf springs.
If you want a 9" rear and a TTB front that doesn't make me right/smarter/better/tougher or you "ghey" and stupid.

In my business I get "newbies" all of the time. I LOVE IT! It's satisfying to help and educate someone else without making them feel stupid or inadequate.
If I laughed at them, told them my way is the only way and treated them like morons I'd be starving to death. If you could see me you'd know I ain't starving to death.

I'd really like to see all these examples of unprovoked attacks on poor defenseless newblets. Bring up the posts, link them, prove it. I don't get it.
