92 5.0 Problem

have recently purchased an awesome deal cause the guy couldn't figure out what was wrong with it

its a 92 f150 4x4 in really good shape, has a 4 inch lift, newer 33s, 302 5spd
for $500

but the problem is it won't start unless you put gas into the throttle body, it will then stay running and apparently a mechanic said his fuel pumps are fine but they don't hum when first started, but yes will stay running once you put gas in and then start it

also it has high idle when running all the time

i pick up the truck tomorrow and will get a better look at it but if you guys have had this problem, know what it is, or have any ideas it would be much appreciated

I replaced the idle air control, no difference, started taking off the upper intake right now, hopefully find a vacuum leak

Ooh ok, thanks
But I found out what was wrong with it, unplugged the idle air control and the high idle was gone, this tells me I had a vacuum leak but it got dark, so off to it again. As for the not starting on its on I'm gonna try the fuel relay today, the fuel pumps are good, changed the fuel pressure regulator, so off to it again!

If the fuel relay was bad it would not run at all.

Could the vacuum leak cause it to not start unless you pour gas in the throttle body?
