Does your a/c suck?

My truck is in my sig. About 2 years ago my a/c compressor imploded and destroyed my entire a/c system. It was so bad that if I turned on the a/c it would instantly kill my truck. I got it all fix now. Now after I dive it for for about 20min the compressor sounds like its making a whining noise and it will blow nice a cold for a little while and then I will just start dropping off. Its bad enough that who ever rides in my truck starts sweating including me. And its pretty hot here in Texas.
Does any of yalls a/c suck this bad?

What all did you replace when you got it "all fixed"? When the old compressor failed, it definitely could have put some debris in your lines. Either way, no, the AC in my truck is easily the best out of any of the vehicles I've owned.

Mine is better than what I have in my car. I love cranking in on after a long day of work, when I am sweaty and it cools me right off.

On my '96, it's still on the original charge as I've never had the system open. It gets so cold you could hang meat in the cab! Hope this lasts....

Was the entire AC system flushed??? When the pump dies you MUST replace the drier and orifice tube and flush with AC cleaner. If that was done you need to check your system pressure!

I just got the A/C back to working condition in my '90 F250 and it easily out chills the A/C system in my 3 year old Camry.

Thanks everyone for all the replies. The Compressor gets louder than my exhaust and my tires . It turns heads in parking lots too.

Yes it was flushed and the drier and orifice tube was replaced. How would I check the pressure?

How would you fined a leak on an a/c system and how do you check the freon. Ive never messed with an a/c system before.

To check the pressures you buy a manifold gauge set, hook it up and run the truck.

Only way to check the amt of refrigerant in your system is to have it evacuated at a shop w/ an ac machine.

nope, mine does not suck, it only blows...cold air that is still all factory original what not (as far as i can tell) and I have yet to crack it open and change it all, still gets cool as the artic (figuratively) and in the 118 heat index were getting here in Louisville its a welcome thing

so to answer your question...err your other part you may have some debris in your system, or a leak and/or low pressure...
