that is what i want wish i could find one i want to put it on my 400 its got a Holley single plane intake on it now mybe i will just change the carb i got a edelbrock performer on it and i hate that thing. anyone got a good suggestion on a good carb for it maybe a spread bore motorcraft
I'm sure a lot of holleys may be suggested, but I've always wondered how a rochester would go. They are meant to be a very under-rated carby and do very well on the holden (read aussie GM) V8's I believe. I may be wrong but are these also called a quadrajet? And aren't they also a spread bore? Ill stop now and see what I've started and how much I've got wrong. Ha!
they both work but in my experience if you want btm end torque the spread bore pirmary's are to small in most application. I ran the 800 spreadbores compared to 800 doublepumper with 1:1 linkage. setting on a 472 BBF. no comparison on btm torque. even the doublepumper kicked the spreadbore. The reason is because the primary's are to small and restrict air flow. Being that the engine is a air pump in all reality restriction is a bad word! Also you say holley's I say which type of holley downleg booster, straight booster, or annular booster. Many variations and what type of butterfly timing, 1:1 or 60% or some other type of butterfly setup. Not kickin dirt on anybody but help educate when speaking carbs. Also a carb will make or break a engine combo even if engine is in fairly stock form. catch you later and any questions drop a message.
Mark, I did some research on that tri-power intake and found the same pic. It was an experimental intake for a 351C and it IS VERY rare. If Ican figure this computer out I will post the pic and the site that i found it on. John

Mark, go to 3x2 351C intakes, scroll down to Ford 6V carburation tehnical info. this will give you some interresting history on this as well as some pics. I found this artical to be a pretty good read, but as with anything you read, until it can verified you take what you want from it. John
read this from back in 2007. thread further up suggested a price tag of $5.5K for one.
After a little Net surfing, this is what I found.
Quote:
The Cleveland 6V intake manifold came about through Ford's NASCAR Engine program where they built 500 366ci Cleveland motors with 6V intakes for NASCAR competition, only to have NASCAR disallow their use, causing Ford to physically destroy all the intakes. I believe that there are only about 6 existing.
