This is for my 83 460 4x4/T19 F-250HD, CA emissions.
Need a vacuum motor part # to cross ref. Not sure the difference between the various "stripes", and mine's been painted over at some point. (I may or may not be willing to admit guilt on that front)
At any rate, this "motor" is the diaphragm canister that controls the flapper valve in the intake duct (to let exclusively warm exhaust air in).
Thanks in advance!
Also, does anyone happen to know the difference between the various stripes?
If it is like the transmission vacuum modulators, it probably denotes the vacuum needed to operate it. Numberdummy may be able to give you a PN, but he may need the emission calibration number either from the label on the panel in front og the radiator or the left valve cover.
Thanks, if that's the case I can nab those when I get home tonight.
I wouldn't be surprised if it were. Honestly, if I weren't stuck in the state of CA, I'd probably just get rid of the series of vacuum hoses used to control it.
That thing is your best friend if it gets cold where you live. The warm air when it gets below around 40 degrees really makes a difference in how it runs.
I am surprised it's bad. Of all the junk aircleaners I have around here, I have never seen a bad one before.

Hooked my vacuum pump up to it, doesn't hold a vacuum at all, and the flapper doesn't respond. I suspected as much when I repainted the air cleaner assembly a few months back, as manually actuating the flapper didn't give the usual sucking noise response I've grown to expect from a vacuum motor.
