Anyone know how to repair or replace seat belts? I have an 86 f150 and my driver side has a tear in the belt along with fraying, and my center belt is good but the buckle on it broke. The pin that holds it together just kinda fell out, lol
Repairing is pretty much out of the question. It's a DOT thing.
Replacing would require either finding decent condition belts in a junk truck, or paying the price for new ones. Can't remember seeing any replacements offered by the repro parts places that are the full shoulder belt style, just "universal" lap belts......
I bought a set of black ones that were like $86 bucks. Good overall but I can't get over the fact that they are made in China. As soon as I can I will convert to racing seats with a harness setup, all made in America, or at least not commie China.

Da, I think the only thing that can be done is to replace the entire thing.
And, they're expensive....

Thanks guys,I actually think its illegal for yards to sell seatbelts in Texas. At least that's what I have heard...
I found a website that will custom make them to your vehicles specs, but as always they are pricey. i will post the site on another post.
Not sure how the 81-86 trucks are, but in the 80's the retractor is mounted high in the B pillar, makes for finding an after market replacement difficult. These guys say they are capable of repairing the retractor and replacing webbing:
Burgandy is the color of the interior. And 80 flareside, mine is in the B pillar the retractor is not too bad. But I guesse since I'm there I should replace it
